The Top Chef Aruba contestant of Café the Plaza is Lerjan Caceres (31) who has been the chef of Café the Plaza since this year.
Chef Lerjan was born and raised in San Cristobal, the capital city of the Venezuelan state of Táchira. He received his culinary training at restaurants in South Carolina, USA. In 2016 he decided to come to Aruba and worked for restaurants like Texas de Brazil, Juanchis Burgers, before joining Café the Plaza in 2017. He started as a cook, worked his way up to sous-chef and since this year has been promoted to chef.

A crispy pan-fried skinned snapper fillet, served with cheesy broccoli mashed potatoes, accompanied by a mango-tomato salsa, lobster cream sauce and homemade beet ‘baba ghanoush’.
